Rickey Smith (born 10 May 1979 - 6 May 2016) was a contestant on American Idol, who finished 8th on the second season of the competition.

Rickey performed in the third group. He sang "One Last Cry" by Brian McKnight. He received enough votes to send him to the Top 12 along with Vanessa Olivarez.

During the first week, Rickey sang "1-2-3" by Len Barry. He garnered enough votes to be considered "safe" that week.

Top 11Edit

Rickey sang "It Might Be You" by Stephen Bishop. He garnered enough votes to be considered "safe" that week.

Top 10Edit

Rickey sang "I've Done Enough Dyin' Today" by Larry Gatlin. He was put in the Bottom 3 for that week.

Top 8.1Edit

Rickey sang "Let's Groove" by Earth, Wind & Fire. There was no elimination that week due to Corey Clark's disqualification.

Rickey sang "Endless Love" by Lionel Richie & Diana Ross. He was eliminated at this stage of the competition.
