Carly Rae Jepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen (born November 20, 1985) is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Mission, British Columbia who finished in 3rd place on season 5 of Canadian Idol. She released her first album, Tug of War, on September 30, 2008 via Fontana/Maple Music. By 2011, she was unsigned and had released a single, "Call Me Maybe", which ended up attracting the attention of a fellow Canadian, international pop superstar Justin Bieber, who sang her praises on Twitter, resulting in the song getting attention. Jepsen was then signed to Interscope Records. "Call Me Maybe" has since become a hit, reaching the top 10 in various countries such as the United States, Canada, the UK, and Norway among others, making Jepsen Canadian Idol's most successful finalist. Her EP, Curiousity, was released on February 14, 2012. Jepsen, along with the British singing group The Wanted, will open for Justin Bieber on his Believe Tour. She also got to work with the group Owl City on their single "Good Time".

Jepsen's second album, Kiss, will be released on September 18, 2012. Jepsen will also appear in an episode of the popular TV series 90210 in October 2012.
